Backlighting and kernel config

I noticed something:

When compiling a kernel _ saw 'CONFIG_BACKLIGHT' can this be set
in the kernel config file?

When I check the kernel vars I saw 'hw.drm2.radeon_backlight'.
Shouldnt there be a 'nouveau_backlight' also?
