You could try adding something like
Section "Device"
Identifier "Card0"
BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
Driver "intel"
Option "NoAccel"
EndSection
to /etc/X11/xorg.conf
If that helps, then try swapping the NoAccel line with
Option "AccelMethod" "UXA"
(I think the default was changed from UXA to SNA in 2013...)
