If you want xeyes to appear on designated virtual desktops, you find the "Occupy ..." context menu causes a blank window to appear that should appear at offset with labelled buttons. Button press permutations can get you the desired effect. Initially, the blank window contains five grey only unlabelled buttons and a bottom area button cluster in a different uniform color, unlabelled.
Toggling the grey buttons will display the label and depress state but the bottom area button cluster does not visually refresh. -- vl
