IMHO, Amazon should sponsor this activity. This is not a generic resource for users, but only for those using AWS. It seems like progress to have optional support in build processes, or a pkgsrc entry for code to make the images. (Personally, I'm not an AWS users, so I don't be allocating cycles to this -- they're all going to port-xen :-)
