The best I usually hope for is watching for errors reported by the
burning software, turning on 'verify' if the software supports that
and then comparing checksums between the original files and those
written to the disc. I haven't looked into bad blocks but I would be
surprised if we weren't expected to throw away any 'coasters', though
it might be possible to re-write the file on another session if the
disc was not finalised.
