Sorry, I never progressed beyond just copypasting few setxkbmap lines ;) Do all keys work in normal mode? https://rog-forum.asus.com/t5/rog-gaming-notebooks/please-help-g750jx-right-shift-key-problem/td-p/462851 if you see something like this then may be you can try idea at the end (remapping keys). I think xev utility should show you something if you push keys while mouse cursor in its window. Check Linux forums, may be this problem surfaced on some Linux distro before and someone solved it before?
