There will be challenges using ZFS on systems with what may be considered "low memory". I do use it all of the time on my build systems and I work around the quirks. It would be an advantage to the NetBSD project to have the mainline OpenZFS instead of what is there currently, if nothing else, at least for the bug fixes.
