I think that is a safe assumption. There is a new-wifi branch in
NetBSD, but it is unlikely to land soon, so I would plan for a urtwn
or similar Wi-Fi dongle in the near future.

Now that is a more interesting question - I know jmcneill@ made some
Snapdragon related changes in NetBSD (efiboot fixes, X Elite GPIO and
I2C controllers and X1E battery and charger sensors), but I don't know
how much likely remains to get a P14s gen 7 to boot (ccing him here in
case he has time to comment :)
