Is that number metaphorical, or are there literally 10^12 files somewhere? And where? On the FS, or in a single dir., or in some tree, or what? I vaguely recollect a PR (or something) on the MLs where creating or deleting millions of files at once under NetBSD hung the system, but, the same test worked on FreeBSD and Linux.
