There still seems to be some question about what should be tested for
FX, specifically profiling. As I recall, a spec can't be changed once
testing starts, so ideally I'd like to see whether that can be
resolved first and added to the test spec.
My goal has been "JavaFX works out of the box". Since Glenn first
alerted that the profiler didn't work, I've found problems in both
NetBeans and javafx-maven-plugin. I've filed an issue with openjfx;
they've acknowledged the problem, there's been some back and forth, but
it doesn't look like they'll be ready for 12.0. I've found a solution
with minimal impact NB changes, and intend to file a PR within the next
day or so.
Seems like "javafx works" would be a good top level goal. Includes
create,run,debug,profile. BTW, you could create a javafx project in
earlier releases; you just couldn't use them as is.
