I’m new to the netcat mailing list so apologies up front if this is not
necessarily a valid question.

I was curious if a test spec/case involving using the NetBeans SW under
test, to pull down all the source code for Netbeans via git, compiling the
code within Netbeans, and get performance metrics would be a viable test
case.

In my eyes, this would test the basic Netbeans functionality, would test
the scalability with a large project (and the file system capabilities)
within Netbeans, and allow to capture benchmark metrics to identify
potential places of performance bottlenecks going forward and places for
improvement.

The only caveat on the performance side might be test system specific which
would likely have to be considered (i.e. someone on an old laptop with
limited memory would not perform as well as a high end laptop). Maybe some
better benchmarks could be developed along the line if not already
available.
