Normally I work from AIX 5.3 - to be easily binary compatible with later 
versions. Today I have also been working on AIX 6.1.
IMHO, if a change is to come, it will be on AIX 7.2 as there is some renewed 
activity by IBM development (not just 'loners' like myself).
Unfortunate (for me) is the focus is more on Linux on Power (xlc) - e.g., a 
clang front-end (syntax checker, gcc flags, etc.) is (soon to be) available. 
Not (yet) for AIX.
