It was a short while (7 Apr 99 23:21:17 +0000) since Mark Lynn mentioned some stuff 
about [netconnect] Connection refused.

Sounds like AmTerm has got exclusive right to artser.device.  You did
quit AmTerm before attempting to re-connect with Genesis didn't you?
