I'm not sure if this is the correct answer but after a while your
memory can get fragmented up into lots of little pieces especially if
you have been using several programs etc. This means its takes longer
for a program or windows when started to 'find' a bit the right size.
(Correct me if I'm wrong). Therefore I think its more to do with the
actual set up rather than the serial port. ;-)
