Well, thanks to Mike Leavitt on the MicroDot2 mailing list I have actually
found out why this was happening.
Go to write a new message and you'll see three tabs at the top "text",
"attachments", and "PGP & Specials" got to the last one and you'll see a
box "Copy self" turn this off to stop it happening.
