Yes =) Probably one of the following :-
a) The pop3 server of your ISP is having problems. You should get in contact
with them to verify this (this is the most likely source of the problem if it
happened for no apparent reason).
b) You were downloading something in the background and forgot about it =)

On a totally unrelated subject, just a word about email clients in general.
You all don't know how lucky you all are! I am stuck with bloody Outlook
Express on my PC here, and I hate it. You can't configure anything really, and
the way it replies to messages is pathetic - all it does is quote the message
at the bottom of the email, and put your signature ABOVE that (!) and you type
above that! Terrible, it's as if M$ don't expect anyone to have any decent
knowledge of netiquette (although having read some posts on various newsgroups
they're probably right about that for some people =/ ). Whether it's MDII,
YAM2, Thor, or whatever - you've all got a better deal than most PC users,
believe me.
