Hi again :)
When I first tried NC2 I was disappointed with AmTerm because I
couldn't get it to talk to my modem at all. So I used NComm. I think
I might have even asked on this ML about it. Well, I've just found
the solution.
It obviously didn't like the Surf Squirrel, because I just upgraded
my squirrelserial.device and surfsquirrel.library to the versions
found on Hisoft's site and it now works fine. These aren't
particularly recent files, but it may be that someone other than
myself never thought to check out the versions.
For reference, the newest versions are:
squirrelserial.device 37.565 (12/05/97)
squirrelscsi.device 37.1823 (08/08/97)
surfsquirrel.library 40.45 (08/08/97)
So I suppose that just goes to prove that you should always check for
upgrades of stuff before bemoaning other software.. :-/
Hope that helps somebody.
Regards,
Ian
