Since the only thing that have changed since you used the Amiga without
problems is the time, I can think of two possible problems.

1. your amiga could have collected enaugh dust to cause overheating
   problems. Not very likely in this case, cause it should have caused
   more overall problems, not just those programs you mentioned.

2. You might have some software installed that has expired. I'm not sure
   what kind of software this could be, but I think that some releases of
   the PICDT43 (datatypes) was time limited.
   Anyway, it should be easy to check, just set your date back a few months
   and try if the same thing happens again.
