I was just going to bed, when Andy Thomson wrote this and I just HAD to read it:

This is right so far.

Have you got the Tag-o-Miga GUI set to on?
Try, in a shell, typing "Tag-o-miga <textfile>" with any old text
file. It should run your editor, then when you finish editing and quit
Tag-o-Miga should intercept it first.
If not, it's something to do with GoldEd detaching itself from the
shell I think. I'm not sure what to do about that. You could try
temporarily replacing your editor in Tag-o-Miga with pEditor also on
AFCD41 which is what I use.

If GUI is set to off, and there are no taglines present it wont work.
The default ones included in the archive should work though.

Pretty sure this is irrelevant.

Try synchronously?

Same here
If the test in the shell doesn't work, I could send you my prefs files
to compare.
