With all the problems I've been having getting Free-Online to work, in the absence of any help from you guys (not a critisim), I've started the inevitable trial & error system. Well, a couple of days ago, I swapped my modem connection from my IOBlix card, back to the internal serial port. It didn't help to maintain the sporadic connection problems, but one thing happened that made me gasp outloud :-o Although browsing remains the same, the downloading of e-mails & news, seems to have miraculously substantially increased in speed! Shock, gasp, horror! How could this be? I haven't used serial.device for ages, so I guess I'd just taken the sluggish downloading for e-mail etc, as perfectly normal. If there's anyone else with the IOBlix A1200 serial card (v37.7), perhaps you could give your serial.device another try, and let us know if it happens to you too. ------------------------------------------------ Using A1200 (rev 1B) with Blizzard 1230/50, 16Mb, 4Gb, Setpatch 43.6, MagicXpress V90 via IOBlix 1200S www.free4all.co.uk _____________________________________________________________ NetConnect mailing list.
