Hi,

Basic: With IRC you log into a group of users, and can chat with them.
ICQ checks to see if one of your friends is currently online, allows
you to chat with them, send them messages, also when their off-line,
exchange (small) files with them, and other things. Good try for the
Amiga would be strICQ, available from the Aminet (just use the Aminet
search tool for it), which is freeware. Instructions on how to set it
up can be found in the archive. For more detailed information you
could check the online mag in my footer, one of our readers wrote an
article in our latest issue of this mag on strICQ.
