Howdy peeps, I'm back again with another dreadful hack to get extra features in MD2. This time you can get HURL to work with it, allowing you to automatically go online/save a URL link if you aren't currently online. A brief description follows, but I'll explain it better if anyone wants. It needs a third party program, sorry. 1) Install HURL as in the instructions and set up for Voyager/whatever. 2)a) Download OpenSaveClip10.lha from Aminet (do a search for it) b) unpack the archive and copy SaveClip to C: c) Discard the rest of the archive. 3) Copy the attached script to somewhere on your HD, probably within the Netconnect drawer. If you don't want to retype it, you can download it from http://www.lantik.u-net.com/software/URL2HURL.rexx 4) Set up a new button in MD2, in the message reader tab. Call it HURL or similar. Set the command to point to URL2HURL and do not enclose in inverted commas. 5) When you see a link in a mail you want, right click on it and select "copy URL to clipboard". Now click on the HURL button you set up, and my script should run HURL with the selected URL as an argument - et voila! It's a bit hacky, requiring both the SaveClip program and my little script to work, but at least it does work. If anyone can come up with a simple way of copying the clipboard contents to a file using DOS, it will be much easier and not require the Aminet file. Any offers? Paul C, pleased and proud ;) -- ...
