How about a backup program or a script that will backup the data
directories and preferences of all the Netconnect programs. Better
still would be the ability to choose what you want to backup and where
you want to copy to. i.e. you might only update AmFTP profiles every
couple of weeks to a floppy, but if you've got a large volume of mail
you might want to backup MD-2 everynight to another HDD.

If you then need to re-install like I just have, you can simply load
the program and select restore so that all your prefs and data were as
they were before. Especially useful for something like Genesis if
you've set up a lot of ISPs.

At a guess (not that I could do it) something fairly simple along the
lines of the Install scripts would work, although if a program was
created you could have a nag requester that popped up after a user
definable period of time reminding you to back up.

Any thoughts on this?

Matt
