This is for you to make your own decision, for *your* machine, not for me to
influence you, nor do we (Active) 'publish' Microdot-II, it's only part of
the NC bundle.
I used Microdot-II for 2 years, and still would use it. I also use my
notebook *far* more than my Amiga, thus I collect far more mail on this
machine, thus it's the reason I use OE more than Microdot-II for email,
which has increased over the months.
If you don't want to buy your Amiga software, due to this, then fine. But do
also remember that nowadays most good Amiga software: GoldEd, MakeCD, STFax
and Pagestream, are actually developed on a PC notebook, running UAE :)
In fact, I have an interview in the next Amiga Format which asks 'what is
the Amiga peripheral or software you couldn't do without', which I answer
with 'my notebook running UAE', even though it isn't a true Amiga periheral.
Lastly you can't really say that 'if you sell the software you have to use
it..'. It's like arguing that everyone who works in Ikea has a house of Ikea
furniture or everyone who works for Marks&Spencers only wears their clothes
:)
You can still produce quality Amiga software without having to use it all
day: to be honest, I use our PC STFax (feature wise *worse* than Amiga STFax
4) more than the Amiga STFax, simply as I use my machine, for business
purposes, day and night <shrug>.
