Having just installed Netconnect 3 (as an upgrade to Netconnect 2), it
asked me if I wished to transfer my old MicroDOT stuff to the new MicroDOT
installation. When I selected "yes", and pointed it at the data directory
(carefully placed on a separate partition), it proceeded to copy all the
files across to my system partition. This isn't quite what I had in mind.

When I ran MD, it seemed to recognise all the header information of the
messages in the database, but completely ignores the message data. Is the
message database compatible between MicroDOT 1.3 and 1.4?

The main complaint I have is that the install process has no idea of
upgrading. I'm going to have to spend quite a while reconfiguring
everything (mainly the toolbar). Whereas if the programs had been updated
in-place, I wouldn't have to change much of my configuration stuff at all.

Apart from that, most of the programs seem to have improved greatly,
especially amtelnet.

O'Brien 1: It's the radiation poisoning.
O'Brien 2: Well, if you are an earlier form of me, and you feel awful,
why don't I feel awful too?
O'Brien 1 & 2: I hate temporal mechanics.
