I was just going to bed, when John Winn wrote this and I just HAD to read it:

>From Octopus (or WB or CLI or whatever), run Contact Manager. Go to
the Settings/Contact Manager... menu item, and click on the Settings
tab. Tick "Save on Exit" and save your prefs. Now when you use the MD2
address book (which is really Contact manager in disguise) all changes
will be saved when you close it.
Ticking "save on changes" will save each entry as you put it in.
