Aminet is pretty much down globally. I got the following to work OK:

Italian mirror, but it seems OK in terms of speed.
The UK site is odd. It /looks/ as though the pages are composed by a
PPC program! The first 4 bytes of the .cgi scripts are ELF, which is
a PPC executable. Hmmm...
