According to Sami-Petteri, there's something good going on and it's
something to do with [netconnect] Q: Genesis.

Make a copy of the interface, and then double click on the new one. Go
to the 'Modem' tab and remove "dial" from the login script. You should
now be able to go straight online without dialling by switching to
this interface when neccessary.
