Seasonal Greetings,

(Looks best with XHelvetica 11pt!)

/\ Aside from the rather lovely tree :), I
/ \ have a serious question to ask, about that
( ) ISP known as FreeNetName. Now the reason
/ \ why I signed up was for the free 20Mb web
/ \ space and the .co.uk domain gubbins. This was
( ) great, because I could have my company at
            / \ *www.omegaresearchuk.co.uk* instead of
/ \ the rather nasty GeoCities address using
(____________) .cjb.net forwarding. So my primary aim for
                   | | joing up was to get free webspace and use
              || Free4All for everything else (who are a really
               \ / good Free-ISP, I had a problem and they phoned
\____/ me back, not bad for an 0845 tech help line...).

Now, all was to be simple me thinks. So I saved the PC's internet conection
prefs file which had all the info I needed to use FreeNetName. I have
created a seperate Interface in Genesis Prefs so I could still use Free4All.
I have entered the phone number (08450800889), my login name (which for
arguments sake we'll say it was 'plop') and my password (which again for
arguments sake is 'woof'). I have selected my modem as set in the Free4All
config and the Login script reads Dial and then GoOnline. All the other
bits are the same except the Resolv page, where two DNS numbers are and the
freenetname.co.uk domain name.

Now that should all be okee dokee. In fact I did manage to get on using
FreeNetName, once. That was before I setup my web domain, I then went
offline and went to bed....

 Next Day... :)

I try to go back online with FreeNetName to see if all has been setup, but
whenever Genesis gets to the bits when the modem has stopped screaming
at me (rather like an old C64 game does when it decrunches...), after a
while I get PAP Authentication Request Failed, or something like that.

I believe my problem lies with my domain settings in the Genesis Resolv
page, but I don't know what to do. My web address was configured as being:

    www.omegaresearchuk.co.uk

What's wrong!!??

If I can't get this to work, does anybody know where I can register a domain
with some webspace (say 15Mb+) for very little? By very little I mean a one
off payment of say no more than 25. I'm a student with little money
remember!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Booze Up, erm, New Year..... ;-)

Nick
