I got it working in the end. I'm not too sure what the overall
problem was, I just deleted my files in the AmChat directory and
re-did it all again.

Would be nice to have a message thing like StrICQ has, where it lists
the messages from a specific user in a listview and then allows you
to reply straight away. The current interface with the slider bar to
read messages is irratating as it is hard to be accurate when
selecting new messages, also it is not clear when a new message has
arrive, nor who it is from because all messages are grouped together.
StrICQ is nice (maybe I'm just use to that) but it is too buggy and
AmChat looks far more professional with its gfx etc.
Another good feature would be support for the ICQ sound themes...
