I had a similar problem, but not exact.
I solved my problem by using a different serial interface. I downloaded
NEW8N1.device from Aminet. I used it instead of the serial.device which came
with OS3.5. My problem went away. Not certain if it is cause and effect, as
every now and then Voyager 3.0a crashes! But my wizard problems are not
repeating.

I have an Amiga 4000 CSPPC w/68060 604e using GVC 14400 42v under
OS3.5, DOpus Magellan, NetConnect3 with latest Vapor updates.

Subject: [netconnect] Genesis Wizard Crashes!!!

Hi group!

I'm running Genesis 1.0.6 as part of NetConnect 3, and find that the Genesis
Wizard is very unstable.
Whenever I try to setup a connection with a new ISP, using the Wizard, the
slightest hick-up seems
to cause it to lock-up and/or crash my Amiga. This will happen even when
using it with ISP accounts
that I know are fully operational, such as my Wirenet account. The Wizard
will dial, the software
negotiates a connection, the Wizard appears to be doing its stuff, and then
as soon as it hangs up
the modem and reports that it has closed the connection, it locks up or
crashes, with the result that
no entry in Genesis was made for that ISP ( plus an invalid partition ).

Also, if I have to click hangup during the dial and training procedure, or
the modem fails to establish
a connection, the Wizard locks up and usually crashes my miggy ( Software
Failure 8000002B
and 8000000B on the last two attempts ).

Obviosuly this is causing MAJOR problems when trying to setup ISP accounts
for my Amiga. Making
manual entries in Genesis has NEVER worked for me on any version of Genesis,
even if I supply
all the details ( DNS IP addresses, domain name etc. ), it will complain
that there is no entry for
that interface when I try to dial-up and connect.

The Genesis Wizard was never this unstable for me with NetConnect 2 Is
anybody else having
trouble with it???? Does anybody have any ideas why it might be crashing?

Also, I still can't connect to an ISP more than once without rebooting my
Amiga. The Genesis dialer
just locks up after disconnecting, rendering it unusable. At least it
doesn't crash I suppose.

Any sign of an update for Genesis Chris??? ( Like he's reading this... ;-)

Cheers group,
