Then try 115200 and if that gets any problems use 57600. AT that speed
with '060 speed related issues can be rules out.

Another possibility is a shonky but still mostly functional CIA. A
test might be to swap the CIA chips.

And for silly but simple one, unplug and replug the serial cable. That
fixed  mine once when using Trapdoor and I could use no protocols that
required RTS/CTS. Software or modem was defaulting to XON/XOFF because
of poor connection of the cable
