I have my data directory on a dedicated Cache: partion. It contains
all the .IX files and the 256 dirs of files.

It works okay here. I only tried changing the directory after a
reformat of the HD but that shouldn't matter.

One warning: when I changed it, I lost all my old mails. I think I
moved all the files and stuff to the new place and then changed the
settings in Microdot, but I still lost the whole lot.

Well, it's not a bug. If you want you can send me any files you think
are relevant and I'll compare them to mine (although if it's loads I
won't have time for a few weeks).
