The problem that you have here is that you are misinterpreting what the
function does, and also how to use it. The Nick function highlights
messages coming *FROM* that nickname, for example if you wanted to
highlight all messages coming from a friend called "Blah" you'd put Blah
as a highlight entry. In this case, what you actually want to do is
highlight a *keyword* out of the text that anyone speaks, in this case
the keyword being your nick. So you need to use the keyword function,
which either involves putting "" or '' around the keyword depending on
whether you want case sensitivity.

However, that's where the second problem has occurred - you DON'T put
Nick=blah or whatever. You simply put the word. Notice that Nick,
Userhost, "Keyword" and 'Keyword' are all clearly distinguishable by AmIRC
without you needing to tell it which one you are using (Nick is just a
word, userhost is something in the form [EMAIL PROTECTED] and Keyword
is surrounded by double or single quotes).

So for example, to highlight messages directed towards me (Arcline), I
simply put the entry:

"arc"

(note NOT Nick="arc")

and this means that whenever anyone says a phrase involving "arc" in either
upper or lowercase, it gets highlighted. It works really well.

I also have a few of these:

*!*@blahblahblahblah.demon.co.uk

which also works nicely to highlight friends who have the hostname
blahblahblahblah.demon.co.uk.

Hope that helps!

Tim
