Have you tried any CLI based commands, e.g. ftp or ncftp? Not pretty but
usually work if nothing else does.
To be honest, it sounds like these WinNT servers are as broken as all other
Windoze stuff. Probably usual Micro$hit tactics, make your stuff a real
hassle to use with anything that's not MS based, to try to get everyone to
switch.
