I'd guess so as well, and as I don't have OS3.5 I'm afraid I can't

...the obvious suggestion is try (a demo of?) Turboprint. That's what
I'm using with a Canon printer and it works fine. In fact as of V3.2
(I think) it even prints all pages, not just the first one.
