Not wanting to be paranoid, but here is a story.
I use Genesis / Netconnect for my connections.
A while back I was not online for a while.
I got on and muched about.
When I am online, I iconify the connect/disconnect buttons.
I double clicked on them and found SQUILLIONS of attempts of someone (Two
people actually) trying to get into my machine.
I had followed Neil's suggestions in one of the early Amiga Actives and I
think that thwarted them.
But out of curiosity, I tried the program TCPSCANNER (Aminet)
This is what it said:
(with redundant lines deleted)
[TCP] Port 113 : auth open
That is that TCPID or inetd thingie - isn't it? (or ident .....)
I don't need to worry do I?
