It sounds more like bullshit. The vast majority of ISPs use non-BT lines
for their dialup connections. Most Internet traffic goes through rival
telcos, why would they single out Clara and still connect all those
going through C&W or Energis?
A fairly accurate translation of the reply would be "I don't know what
the problem is, I can't be bothered to find out, so I'll blame it on BT
because everyone knows they're the bad guys".
If you were using Windows, he'd probably have blamed it on Bill Gates
instead :-O
