Hi Jules and Totty,
Many thanks for your advice

You seem to have been sanely right :). I set WB to 256 colours ,left
the default colours in PPaint, loaded the saved image(brush). The
PPaint setting was ILBM rather than auto (though I'm not sure this
would make any difference. I found the "uncompress" gadget but
forgot to tick it.:-\
Used the 'box' gadget to crop (?) the image,
saved, and hey presto it works in MD2
Thanks very much, both of you for your help,
Cheers,
Ian.

Without in any way knocking his achievements over the past ten years I
have to admit to being British both by birth (Scots father/English
mother),* and* conviction ;-). Maybe a period of retrenchment and
consolidation might not be a bad thing, though I realise some would
call that inactivity. However, if I go on any more I
risk being flamed as off message/topic !
*APOLOGY* substitute
If you get multiple copies of this please accept the apologies of
whoever is responsible (ukonline, MD2 etc. etc). In "Sending" this it
was timed out, then had an error message "broken pipe" - whatever that
may mean :(
so I have to keep forwarding it:(
Ian
