I've often found that when V crashes out on a page consistently then clearing out the disk cache can help. It's almost like part of the page, say a jpeg is partially downloaded prior to the crash and then when you re-visit the site and there are no changes V trys to refresh the page from the cache and chokes on the partially loaded jpeg.
