Applied... although I'm going to review this particular one
just a little bit more before I push all of today's TCP stuff
to Linus.  I want to make certain there are no possible
"dangling pointer" holes, as such could be deadly and at least
in theory easy to trigger remotely depending upon what kind of
check is missing.
