Recompile with 2.6.14 drivers and retest just to be sure - it's
definitely working. I can say that fairly certainly, since the newer
kernels throw up so quickly.

Okay, good to know that 2.6.14 works.

We've been unable to repro this here, please send your motherboard info (or just output of dmidecode) and .config, as well as the output of ethtool -e

Please make sure you're running the latest bios for your machine.
