If I heard correctly, the default of
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_broadcasts has changed from 0 to 1.
You'll want to set that back to 0.

HTH,
Bruce.

Subject: no response to broadcast ping from systems running >= 2.6.14?

I've recently noticed that broadcast ping responses are not received
from any system running kernel 2.6.14 or newer.

I have 9 systems here, 3 of which are running 2.6.15 through
upstream-tip and 6 running version 2.4.x through 2.6.12. A broadcast
ping from any of those systems gets a response from all of the systems
*except* the 3 running newer kernels.

Is there a new option that needs to be enabled to turn broadcast ping
response on?

Thanks,
James
