It applies cleanly to 4.17 and 4.14. I tested 4.14 it is fine. Since 4.18 and 4.14 work I have no reason to believe 4.17 will have a problem. Only other relevant release is 4.9 which is handled by others. It needs some non-trivial work to backport so needs to wait until after PTO.
