Not yet, but it's on the TODO list.

I hope to have an action in netdisco-do, and also we'll eventually open the web API so it can be scripted as well.

regards,
oliver.

In the www frontend there is a red Delete button, but I do not really
want to delete 1000 devices by hand.

As a workaround, you might be able to use the expire_devices and discover_no settings.

You could prevent discovery of the devices using discover_no, then lower expire_devices so that you can soon run the expiry command from netdisco-do. It should delete the device and attached nodes.

Please take a backup of the DB beforehand, just in case :)

regards,
oliver.

Been working on a new netdisco server. Runs now (version 1.3.2) however
when I try netdisco -g I get an error message about not having graphviz
installed, and I do. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

Besides cisco catalyst switches we have several cisco SG (SB.81.512) and
netgear (M4100-50G-POE) switches in our network. I can discover them, but I do
not see any connected node on these switches. The correct port descriptions are
missing also.

My configuration:
App::Netdisco  (2.021000)
SNMP::Info (3.10)

Can anyone help me?

Regards

Peter

Hi folks,

On 18th January 2011 I pushed the first Netdisco 2 code to our repository.

We're now close to moving officially to ND2, it will certainly happen in 2014.

Eric and I want to thank all the contributors, people who hang out on IRC, those who submit bug reports and feature requests. Without you we just wouldn't have had such an amazing outcome for the project's reboot.

Have a happy new year, and thanks for using Netdisco!

Hi Peter,

Are the Cisco SG switches the 300 or the 500 model? We have some 500 series in use for consoles and they work OK, with nodes. We have some Netgear Prosafe 24G and GSM7248R which also work fine.

Could it be old software on the switches, or models which do not fully support the MIBs we need?

regards,
oliver.

Hi Oliver,

the Cisco switches are SG500-52P with firmware version 1.2.7.76.
I will update one of them to the latest firmware and check again, but I don’t
think that this will help.

Regarding our netgear switches:
These M4100 models have the lastest firmware installed and I can find MAC
addresses via the html gui of the switch, eg:
VLAN MAC port status
11 00:1C:C0:F8:38:21 0/1 Learned.

But I do not see this information in netdisco. How can I verify that the mib
you need is supported or how can I help you to debug this?

Regards

Peter
