Well, so far I haven't gotten the same errors running Postgres on another
server. I just got a bunch of these, but that's been it.

Use of uninitialized value in sprintf at
/home/netdisco/perl5/lib/perl5/App/Netdisco/Core/Discover.pm line 236,
<$__ANONIO__> line 702.
Use of uninitialized value in sprintf at
/home/netdisco/perl5/lib/perl5/App/Netdisco/Core/Discover.pm line 236,
<$__ANONIO__> line 1262.

Now I have to wonder if my install of Netdisco is getting corrupted by running
on this install that Postrges didn't like.

Thanks,
Joseph B.

I am seeing this same behavior. One thing that is a little different is that
if the node if searched for by MAC address, it is shown as being on the
port-channel of neighboring switch on the same VLAN. If I go to the switch it
is actually on and check Archived Data, that data is correct. If I search by
the node's IP address, ND2 shows it associated with a MAC address of a Port MAC
and has a lot of devices associated with it. Not all nodes are like this.

I don't know if this matters, but I did comment out the expire in housekeeping.
I have uncommented it to see if makes a difference.

Thanks,
Joseph B.

Using the 'host;port=5xxx' syntax in ~/environments/deployment.yml file, we
successfully connected to a remote instance of postgres. Thanks for getting us
to the finish line. Your help is much appreciated.

Yes, but you need to use the "host" config option, which I recall you had
trouble with, before?

Anyway, this will work:

database:
   name: 'netdisco'
   host: 'localhost;port=5432'
   user: 'changeme'
   pass: 'changeme'

When using the "host" option, MD5 auth should be enabled in the database config:

https://metacpan.org/pod/App::Netdisco::Manual::Deployment#Enable-MD5-authentication-to-PostgreSQL

oliver.

OK, some good (& bad) news, but at least some progress.

This is not serious (debug log message) and I can fix. Thanks for pointing it out.

To be honest everything I've read about this particular error points to
hardware or software corruption. For example, bad RAM (non-ECC).

Would it be possible to run Pg on another server?

I'm not sure that these issues are coming from the Netdisco app
(although the app is picking up on them).

It seems like your PostgreSQL installation has some problems -
perhaps
bad hardware or file corruption, or a buggy version. Can you
upgrade to
a different PostgreSQL version, or try running the database on
another
server?

oliver.
