I installed Netdisco 1 on a Windows machine once. However, the fork
emulation was problematic. It would not operate in parallel mode due to
issues related to MIB loading in the SNMP back-end. As such the
usefulness of running on Windows was limited.
Although I have not tried it with Netdisco 2 the same SNMP back-end is
used so I assume it would still be an issue.

What version of Netdisco and SNMP::Info are you using?
If you do a discover with debug enabled, what class is detected (are
they using the Enterasys class)?
Also, I assume CDP is referring to Cisco Discovery Protocol and not
Cabletron Discovery Protocol?

A new version of the netdisco-mibs package has been released. You can
safely upgrade this package without changing your Netdisco or SNMP::Info
version.
However, it is HIGHLY recommended to delete your existing netdisco-mibs
directory before installing as some files have been moved and/or
renamed. Unpacking over an existing directory may result in conflicts
between some files.

We have worked at an improved version of the IOS-XR arpnip script with
more exact checks on ip's and mac's.
It would be nice if this version could replace the one currently being
distributed.

we made a small (and dirty?) fix. Downgrading DBIx did not work for us...
It seems that the original code implicitly typecasts $num_slots to
something not an integer (a boolean?)
in the call to search(), the patch below prevents this typecast by
removing the logical OR operator from
the argument list of search() as well as the assignment in the beginning
of the function.
We initially tried to keep the original return () if defined...
statement and checking $num_slots
for a non-integer value. And if that matched, set it to 1 (integer).
However this resulted in a new
error message.

Running into this we changed the return () if defined... row to return
if $num_slots is undefined or has an integer
value less than one. The statement ( $num_slots < 1 ) seems to catch
cases where $num_slot is not a
valid argument for the search function.
The patch below seems to be working for us running with Debian Wheezy
and App::Netdisco 2.029012.
Feedback on this would be very welcome.

This problem is with Netdisco 2 installed a few weeks ago.
I've noticed that on IBM BNT switches, only model 8124 devices have
the os_ver column populated in the device table in postgres.
Can someone help me find out why the other devices (8052, 8264) are
not populating the os_ver column?
As far as I can tell, the snmp setup is the same on all of them.

i have a running netdisco 1 on a Debian Squeeze (~3 years up & running)
i wish to migrate to netdisco 2 on a Debian Wheezy virtual machine
a ND2 on a virtual Wheezy is now running for testing everything seems to be
fine.
i wish to have the old db (ND1) on a brand new ND2?
