Random thought - does the device I'm collecting from need to be

the manual topology import?
Certainly, the device will need to exist (be discovered) in Netdisco
prior to the sshcollector run.
Perhaps run the script with DBIC_TRACE=1 in the environment to see
what's happening with the database.

Hi Jeff,
On 2015-04-13 21:03, Jeff Gibson wrote:
First is that netdisco is able to see the neighbors, but does not
automatically interrogate them like other switches.
It might help to read this doc, which explains what Netdisco needs to
have in place for automatic discovery. You can, of course, trigger
manual discovery from the command line (also using an IP prefix for bulk
operations):
https://metacpan.org/pod/distribution/App-Netdisco/lib/App/Netdisco/Manual/Troubleshooting.pod
Second, when drawing a map, it doesn't show the "final" link that
would make the network a ring. If I zoom to the last node in the map,
it does show neighbors from there in both directions.
Okay that's probably the simplistic approach that the mapping takes to
work out what to display. It tries to eliminate some redundant
connections and only show them when you hover over the device. To be
honest I'm not sure we can do a lot in Netdisco 2 about that, without
some significant dev time, sorry.
However also check the number of "hops" which I believe defaults to 8
("Draw to Depth").
Hope this helps,
regards,
oliver.

Hi Derek,

I've been trying to macsuck on our new Cisco 4500-X switches and have

I've seen a few times on the mailing list.
To map a forwarding table entry (MAC to Port) on a device actually
involves quite some indirection via other SNMP tables, and this message
says there's some data missing from one of the intermediates.
fw_mac -> fw_port -> bp_index -> interfaces
The switch in question is:
Cisco 4500X32 running ios-xe version 03.07.00.E
Is this recent software? It could be a bug that's since been fixed.
Alternatively it could be something SNMP::Info is able to work around,
however (a) I think the devs usually don't like to work around vendor
mistakes and (b) seeing as things've been quiet here, you might not find
a dev who can fix this for your platform.
Version(s) of various software:
[netdisco@netdis01 netdisco]$ ./netdisco -v

Hi Oliver,
I've created a cronjob which executed every 2h the "ps" command and
logged the results a file.
Can you please have a look at the output to check if the
netdisco-workers operate as expected.
Worker #16 for example allocate already after 4h about 2 GB of RAM,
that looks strange to me, doesn't it?
On a test server with a new installed ND2 I see the same behaviour.
Output of "ps axf -o pid,pgid,rss,vsz,command | grep netdisco-daemon |
grep -v grep" in 2h interval (sorry for the long output):
