In addition to Steven's reply (thanks Steven!) I have just spotted a
bug in Netdisco at this line, which may be masking an underlying
problem. The device discover routine is looking for the device to
discover in the database and not succeeding, but continuing with the
discover, instead of returning an error for the job.
I've applied a fix for the next release.

SUBJECT: [Netdisco] Netdisco not updating
I'm having a very odd behavior with my NetDisco (newest release
code).
We recently changed IP addressing within a building but my NetDisco
keeps holding on to the old Client records and won't recognize the
new
network.
I've went as far as deleting the switch and rediscovering it and it
just brings the old records back with it. I've manually done Macsuck
and Arpnip too.
Example: We changed the network from 10.119.5.0/24 to 10.119.200.0/24
When I search for a MAC address of a client, it keeps showing the
client having a 10.119.5.xx address even though that network doesn't
even exist any longer. It shows an older "last seen date"
When I search for the IP (the new IP range) of a client, nothing
shows
up. Almost as if NetDisco isn't updating its database.

If you mean not updating MAC <=> IP mappings, this is the arpnip
function not the discover.
So if you run "~netdisco/bin/netdisco-do arpnip -d x.x.x.x -D" then
take a look at the output. Run this against your router or firewall -
wherever you expect the most complete ARP table to be.

I think this is a simple bug that should not be stopping the macsuck.
I've implemented a fix for the next release that will allow the macsuck
to continue. Please do let us know how you get on when you upgrade.
I did notice that it says trying to connect with ver 2 class
SNMP::Info::Layer3::C6500. However this device is a 3750 switch, not
sure if that matters or not.
This is quite normal ... as Cisco developed their product series we
ended up using the C6500 class behaviour for many models.

Many thanks for spotting this issue, I've applied your fix and it will

Also, I've modified the observium plugin to work with mrtg, created a
plugin for nfsen integration, and am creating plugins for integration
with sccm, racktables, nmap and arbitrary external tools. Let me know
if
the project is interested in them and if so how to send them in.
I'm using netdisco-ng as the main interface for my internal company
nettools, so I want to be able to integrate everything into its gui.
That's great! You could release the plugins to CPAN yourself if you
wish, under the NetdiscoX:: namespace. Or you could share the code on
github if you have an account, and I'll do the release. Or simply send
me the plugins and I'll do my best to incorporate them into the Netdisco
git repository and release from there.

oliver.

Hello,
I have a problem with the configuration of SNMPv3 in Netdisco (version :
2.033004) with Extreme Networks switch (A4 et B5 model)
I was unable to find the answer on google, or forum..... so i would like to
