--- Begin Message --- Hi Nic,

I quickly looked at the history of changes between the two versions. You should have been able to see port channels in the previous version you were running. I am also able to see port channels if I run the version you were running on.

Anything turning up in your daemon logs?

Steven

Steven,
I was running 2.032001 for the past year, and before that 2.028005.  Both upgrades were done following instructions on the netdisco.org website.

Thanks for your help,

Subject: [Netdisco] Display after upgrade to 2.033006

Friends,
I just upgraded an existing Netdisco2 installation to 2.033006. Right
after I did so, I saw new features in the web interface, such as the
icons for Port Channels and their members (on Cisco switches).  Now, a
few days and a few reboots later, the display looks like it had before,
without these new, and very useful, features.

Any ideas?

The System Information page still shows version 2.033006, so I know I'm
on the correct, new, version.

Cheers,

--- End Message ---
--- Begin Message --- Following up on my own thread, I've taken some time to examine the database for the problem Netdisco2 instance, and found that the 'slave_of' and 'is_master' fields are not being properly filled in. This lead me to suspect a data collection problem.

I manually ran a new discover process:

And now those fields are correct. Odd, since an automatic discovery was performed just 10 minutes prior...

Aha! Turns out that the old Debian package cron job, /etc/cron.d/netdisco-backend, as still enabled, and was using the old V1 netdisco command to do data collection.

Now that's disabled, this should be fixed.

Steven,
No, nothing but the startup message. It's good to know, however, that the icon's should have been there before. I thought that might be the case. I maintain several different installations of Netdisco, some of which are upgraded more regularly than others.

This particular instance was running the Netdisco1 daemon up until this most recent update. It is now running the netdisco-daemon from the 2.0 branch. The DB has been steadily updated for many years now, and I wonder if perhaps it's just gotten out of whack.

And to be clear, I do see port channels on devices, they just don't seem to be recognized as special in any way. For example, attached is a partial screen shot from another Netdisco2 installation, the same version (good-image.png):

The icons for the port channel member (green) and the port channel itself (gray) are clearly visible here. In the attached image from the problem installation, there are no such icons (problem-image.png).

Not sure if that helps...
